FTP Accounts
What's FTP? What?s an FTP account? When do you need one?
FTP, which denotes File Transfer Protocol, is the most famous way to upload web content to a hosting account. Using an FTP client program that’s installed on your desktop PC or laptop, you can make a connection to your website hosting server and copy all of the web files that you need with a few mouse clicks. You can do this via an easy-to-work-with GUI and it is as simple as dragging ‘n’ dropping the aforementioned files. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is the fact that you’ll be able to create different FTP accounts, each one with a different level of access to your web space, so if you have to provide somebody with access, for example – a designer, they will be able to connect only to a specific directory and will not be able to see the rest of your web content or any other info, including personal details. Three things are required to be able to set up an FTP connection – a hostname, which is usually a domain name or an IP, a user name and a password.
FTP Accounts in Shared Hosting
Our shared hosting packages will permit you to set up numerous FTP accounts with just a few clicks of the mouse through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and to select what files and folders each one can access. There is no upper limit on the total number of accounts that you’re allowed to create, so you will be able to have as many as you need at any particular time. In case you wouldn’t like to use a certain FTP account anymore or in case a designer has completed their job and you don’t want them to connect to your web content any longer, you can simply delete that account. The FTP section of the Hepsia Control Panel will permit you to view all currently existing accounts listed alphabetically, together with different options, which you can access with one single mouse click. You will be able to change the access path and the password, to download an auto-configuration file, etc. We also have elaborate help articles, which will help you manage your FTP accounts should you have any problems.
